Marc Benzakein has been working online since the mid 90s, starting as a Network Administrator for a small, independent ISP in Southern California and has been involved in almost all aspects of technology.<\/p>\n

In 2009, he started developing in WordPress, first for his own purposes and then for clients. In early 2013, he got involved with ServerPress, LLC, makers of DesktopServer, a local development tool created for WordPress designers and developers.<\/p>\n

Marc lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife, Jessica and two children, Eli (8) and Brenna (4).<\/p>\n

Why do you use WordPress?<\/b>
\nBecause WordPress rocks. The software is terrific and you can apply it to almost anything you want to do, but the support and community is even more terrific!<\/p>\n

What would you say to convince someone to attend a WordCamp?<\/b>
\n“If you buy the plane ticket, I’ll pay for your WordCamp ticket.”<\/p>\n

What is your favorite WordPress project you have worked on recently?<\/b>
\nCan’t tell. But let’s just say that it incorporates our core product.<\/p>\n

Do you have any advice for someone looking to start or grow a WordPress based business?<\/b>
\nGo to WordCamps. Go to meetups. Get to know the community first and the WordPress knowledge will come a lot easier to you as you go, along with all the really awesome business practices you’ll pick up from knowing the Community.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite WordPress-related resource?<\/b>
\nMy partner Gregg. He, like, knows where to find everything.<\/p>\n

Tell us something awesome about yourself that is not WordPress related<\/b>
\nI have a ridiculously awesome family. My wife and kids are three of the smartest, nicest, coolest and funniest people on this planet. If you’re lucky enough to meet them, then you’ll become sad because all that you’ve ever known will pale in comparison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
