Aaron Holbrook

Aaron is a Chicago WordPress web developer/designer, gamer and father. He builds amazing WordPress themes and applications with his company A7 Web Design and has been working with WordPress since 2005.

With clients across the globe, he has had the opportunity to work on many different types of WordPress sites and has discovered his passion for all things WordPress.

Andy Nathan

Becky Davis

Becky is the principle at Becky Davis Design and specializes in web design, development and custom WordPress themes for small businesses. She loves working with WordPress because it not only makes her job as a developer easier, but it allows her to empower her clients to take control of their own websites.

She is a regular presenter at SCORE Chicago, doing seminars on web design and WordPress for small business owners. She is active in several web-related meetup groups in Chicago, as the organizer of the Northside Chicago WordPress meetup and as an assistant organizer the Web Professionals group. Erick Hitter

Erick Hitter is a Design Engineer with Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Gravatar, PollDaddy, and more. As part of Team Custom, he helps create awesome features that let WordPress.com users tailor sites to their personalities with more than just a great theme. He was formerly a web developer with Oomph, Inc., where he specialized in complex WordPress implementations for high-traffic sites, including several on the WordPress.com VIP platform. Erick has created a number of plugins available from the official repository, including WP Print Friendly, View All Posts Pages, and Taxonomy Dropdown Widget, as well as the WordPress.com VIP External Permalinks and View All Posts Pages plugins.

Helen Hou-Sandi

Helen is a Senior User Experience Engineer with 10up, working exclusively with WordPress in all levels of development. From front-end slicing to deep integrations of custom content, Helen creates functionally complex yet usable and integrated admin interfaces. She also spends up to 20% of her time contributing to WordPress Core and other community efforts and is a Contributing Developer and core development/UI team representative. When not developing with or for WordPress, Helen is also an accomplished and actively performing pianist.

Jake Caputo

I’m a husky designer and developer living in the Chicago suburbs with my wife and two cats. I’ve been designing/developing with WordPress for the past four or five years. I started at a small agency, moved to freelance client work, and currently spend 100% of my time creating commercial WordPress themes.

I operate out of designcrumbs.com, co-host the occasional podcast at PleaseAdvise.fm, and tweet dumb stuff.

Jason McCreary

Jason is a web and iOS application developer currently in Louisville, KY. With over a decade of PHP experience, he likes pushing WordPress as a development platform. He has spoken at WordCamps as well as written for PHP|architect. Jason’s a self proclaimed “active geek” – camping, hiking, and being a Tough Mudder. Jesse co-organizes the local WordPress meetup and is very active in the community. Michelle Schulp

Michelle is a graphic designer and co-owner of local multimedia company Marktime Media, which provides design, branding, and video solutions to small and medium sized organizations across the country. WordPress is her CMS of choice for her clients.

She has been designing ever since she was old enough to pick up a pencil or sit at a computer (anyone remember KidPix?). She studied Visual Communications Design with a double-minor in Psychology and Sociology, which contributed to her love for all things problem-solving and user-experience related.

When she’s not designing, catching up on industry blogs, or interacting on social media, she plays flute in the local Community Band (band geeks forever!) and attends networking events, meetups, conferences, and MuteMath concerts.

Mike Van Winkle is a developer with WP Engine where he focuses on creating features to help analyze
and improve the performance of thousands of WordPress sites. He also frequently assists in support of high-traffic WordPress installations.

Samer Sultan

Samer Sultan is a technology enthusiast, father & husband, musician, and founder of Sultan Solutions. Samuel Wood, better known to the WordPress community as “Otto”, lives in Memphis, Tennessee, the Birthplace of Rock and Roll. Otto is a Tech Ninja at Audrey Capital, Matt Mullenweg’s investment and research company. When not hacking away at WordPress or the WordPress.org website, he spends his time homebrewing or scuba diving or searching out the best BBQ he can find, which he will always say is in Memphis.

Scott Offord

Scott Offord is a partner and the Director of Internet Marketing at Orion Group, LLC. He creates and manages search engine optimization and pay per click campaigns for our clients. Scott is certified in Google Analytics and in Google Adwords. He focuses on improving the visibility of websites in the search engines. His has a background in designing and developing websites using various content management systems. When he’s not optimizing websites, Scott enjoys walking his Great Dane, Squiggles.

Steve Hernan

Steve Hernan is the founder and primary content producer of Open Water Chicago, one of the nation’s leading open water swimming and endurance sports related information and social networking websites. With the help of WordPress, Steve took a personal hobby and managed to become a leading voice among a local and worldwide community of over 5,000 swimming, fitness, and endurance sports enthusiasts.

Thomas Griffin

Thomas is a passionate WordPress developer living in Charlotte, NC. He works as an independent consultant creating custom WordPress solutions for clients of all shapes and sizes. When he is not doing client work, he is either actively building Soliloquy (the best WordPress slider plugin) or playing golf. He hopes to one day become a professional golfer.

Tom Carney

Tom has been working with WordPress for over three years. He has been developing and designing WordPress websites for YellAdworks, a King of Prussia based company, for over two years. He has also founded Tec Doc Design, a WordPress and Web development site that utilizes website development and design concepts for small and medium sized businesses nationwide in January 2012. I’m an entrepreneur, own and operate a tech start-up specializing in web-malware. I was forcibly thrown into the InfoSec domain a little over a year ago and haven’t looked back. I am a big believer in sharing information and love to do so in an open forum. I’m a passionate biker, love my guns and like to mingle in some martial arts from time to time.

Trafton Esler

Despite a decade of computer engineering experience, from hardware (chip design at Intel and Robotics Fairs) to enterprise software (SAP), Trafton specializes in translating developer speak into plain English. He uses this superpower to solve technology problems with the WordPress developers that build amazing sites and host them on WP Engine.

Outside the office, Trafton is always organizing communities, including Burger Thursday, a 4 year quest to find the best burger in Austin, Texas. He is also an avid mountain biker, a certified Emergency First Responder and a Rescue Diver. He recently got into the Twitterverse, and you can follow him via @traftonesler.

Vid Luther

I am currently the CEO and Founder of ZippyKid. I’ve been building or maintaining high traffic websites and systems since he was 18 (I’m almost 34 now, and too old to do the math).. starting at a local internet service provider that turned into a hosting platform for one of the largest ‘adult entertainment’ sites in the 1990s, to writing systems that scaled all the way to 100,000 SQL queries per second.

These days I use my experience and connections to help scale WordPress sites, dealing with spikes in traffic that increase pageviews by 100X in a day, to membership sites with millions of members.

Zack Tollman

Zack has been building websites for over 8 years, specializing in WordPress implementations since 2007. Zack was attracted to WordPress’ blend of exciting features in combination with a highly usable and engaging publishing environment. When Zack is not building websites for 10up clients, he gives back to the community by building plugins, teaching new developers about WordPress, and contributing code to other projects.

With a PhD in Psychology, Zack has special insight into how human users interact with computer systems and knows how to build highly effective, rewarding working relationships with clients. It should come as no surprise that, while he loves tackling technical challenges, Zack’s inspiration is drawn from interacting with engaging clients of all stripes.

When Zack isn’t engaging clients or working with WordPress he can often be found in a hockey match or playing the guitar. He loves spending time with his wonderful fiance and incredible dog.
